The calm shallows of Torakina Beach stretch out like a lagoon of light ~ a gathering place where families and friends float in the soft rhythm of the tide. The water glows in layers of turquoise and jade, holding the laughter of swimmers suspended in the hush before the ocean’s roar.

Beyond the protective curve of the break wall, waves crash and surge, while on the opposite side, the river winds inland, carrying stories upstream. In this sheltered pocket between two forces, life slows.

Through rich textures of acrylic a story of that delicate in-between is conveyed where salt and river meet, and where the joy of simple immersion reminds us that peace often lives right at the edge of movement.
